SHINTY legend Ronald Ross helped fire Kingussie to the Scottish Hydro Premier League title yesterday in what may be his last game in the sport.

34-year-old Ross scored four goals in Kingussie’s 5-1 victory over Kyles Athletic in Oban which clinched them the league title on goal difference ahead of fierce rivals Newtonmore.

But the record-breaking goalscorer refused to confirm if he would return to the shinty field next season when asked about his future in the game.

He said: “We will see.  I will weigh things up.”

Ross has scored 55 of Kingussie’s 82 league goals this season which sends out a clear message to his critics.

Ross said: “People can knock me but I have done it again.  No one can argue at all, not even my biggest critics.

“To score so many goals this year is incredible so I am delighted.”

Bute kept their hopes of avoiding relegation alive with a 4-1 win over Inveraray.
